Away from the blog

Virgil Everett Hunt
September 15, 1926 - February 2, 2017

He meant more than words can say to me.
His example will outlive me and carry me forward in the days to come.

Where have I been?

To put into perspective on the morning of February 2
at 6:35 a.m., I received an email saying "Call Me -- It's important" from my mother;
at 7:31 a.m., I missed a phone call;
at 7:39 a.m., my life changed.
It was in that phone call to my mother that I was notified that my Grandfather Virgil Everett Hunt had died. The man who along with my father, who had introduced me to so much - family, friendships, relationships, sports, etc - was no longer alive. Every where I looked had a subtle reminder of him. I could only mask so much emotion. I made my way into work and started the process of explaining them to who and what had transpired. I quickly made plane reservations to be there and be with my family - my mother, my brother, my Grandma and many others. I am forever indebted to the support that I received from everyone from my Uber driver / Pacific radio broadcaster Matt Richert to catch a flight, to my Pacific co-workers, to the people who scanned over my social media feed. Thank you. I plan to restart the blog again, next week, with more insights and encouragements to help people in their professional journey. I share with you some parting insights.
